Come one, come all! On January 17, 2024, we will embark on a World Event together. World Events are designed to progress the site plot and provide player characters with a grand stage to shine or embarrass themselves on.

World Events are not mandatory. You may choose to not participate in the event. These events are good opportunities for you to RP with characters you may otherwise never get to RP with. They also come with hefty rewards!

This event will revolve around a certain shichibukai being roped into a scheme which may turn out to be more than he bargained for. The event will take place on an uncharted island in the South Blue. Members from all major factions will be present at this event with their own agendas to pursue. For more lore details, peruse through the related News Coo articles and "Meanwhile..." scene(s)!

There are certain rules you must follow if you choose to participate in the world event. You must also meet the requirements specified below for you to be eligible to participate.

Tier Cap: Your character must be below Tier 4.

Character completed: Your character must have completed all Steps 1-10 to be eligible for participation.

Location: Your character's current location must not be the Grand Line.

Death and Killing: Callous and wreckless player character actions in the event may be throttled through the use of Important NPCs. Should you choose to persist further with such actions, you may be forced into PvP combat with Impies with death/arresting turned on.

Posting Deadlines: Once the event begins, you will be able to split up into RP groups where you can post independently from other groups. Bi-weekly NPC posts will set the pace of the event plot, so, you will still need to follow along. If your group falls behind or gets too far ahead, you will be throttled accordingly. Please be open to editing your posts as needed.

Word Count Requirement: While your individual posts can be as long as you want, your total IC word count by the end of the world event must be above 10,000 for at least one of your participating characters.

Quality Score: Every participating character will receive a Quality Score at the end of the World Event. This Quality Score is separate from your quest Quality Scores, and therefore, it will not affect your carried score in your profile. Players will also not receive feedback comments in the gradings due to the large scope of the thread.

Free Blues Travel: If your character is not currently in the South Blue, where the event will be set, they will still be able to participate. The regular sea RP restrictions do not apply to this World Event. It will be up to you to figure out a reason for your character to be there.

No Faction Restrictions: Members of all factions are eligible to participate in this event.

The world event will have two sets of rewards. One will be standardized base rewards as defined below:
+250 EXP, +1.5mil*(character level)
The usual difficulty and quality score multipliers will be applicable to the above rewards.

There will also be "player's choice" rewards. If at least three players complete the event, we will hold a vote at the end. If at least eight players vote, the following rewards will be given out to the top three voted players:
Undisclosed Event-only Devil Fruit, Tier 6 Equipment, 3 Start Me Up! re-rolls
First place will get the first pick, second place will get the second pick, and third place will have to accept the leftovers. You must have at least a Quality Score of A to qualify for these rewards though.

[info]You only need to participate with one of your characters in the event. Once the world event is complete, you will be able to request equivalent rewards for all of your other completed alts (must have completed at least one quest with the alt for it to be considered complete).

The reason for this system is so that no player feels obligated to force all of their characters into the event for the rewards even if it doesn’t make sense for their personal stories. You will not receive any bonus rewards if you choose to participate with more than one of your characters.[/info]

[warn="Important Note"]As this is a revival of the previously abandoned world event, the premise of the story and the first few NPC posts will largely remain the same (with tweaks made for any new character interactions).

For this reason, any characters who had previously participated in this world event and are rejoining this one will be allowed to repost their posts when their turn arrives (as long as it makes sense for them to do so with new character interactions in mind).[/warn]

To sign up for participation in the World Event, you simply need to reply to this thread with the character account you want to use by January 16, 2024, 23:59 UTC. Your character must be completed and approved for you to be eligible. Once the event begins, another announcement will be made to link the event thread.
